Adam and Joe is a British comedy duo made up of Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish. The duo rose to fame after making a sketch comedy television series on British Channel 4 called The Adam and Joe Show. The series lasted for four seasons between the years 1996 and 2001, and has since gained somewhat of a cult status among its fans. In 2004 the duo released The Adam and Joe DVD with the best parts of the four seasons.
Adam and Joe continued to work together in 2003 when they presented Adam and Joe Go Tokyo, an eight episode documentary about Japanese pop culture made for BBC Three. The duo also started to fill in for Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant on the London-based radio station XFM on Saturday afternoons during the same year. When Ricky and Steve left XFM for good in 2004 Adam and Joe continued to present their show on Saturday mornings until the Summer of 2006. Those shows were later condensed in to twenty podcast episodes.
Between the summer of 2006 and the autumn of 2007 Adam and Joe also hosted a monthly Coke New Music Podcast, in which they showcased new music artists and discussed various topics in a similar way to their show on XFM.
Since October 2007 Adam and Joe have hosted a radio show on BBC 6 Music on Saturday mornings, with an hour long podcast containing the best bits of the show released every week as well. When Joe Cornish shot his first feature film Attack the Block in 2010, the regular show took a thirteen month long break, but was back on air again in April 2011.
