Joe Cornish is unsure about the future of Adam and Joe

Joe Cornish talked about a lot of interesting stuff in an interview with NUS recently.

What the processes of writing Attack the Block was like, how it was to meet and work with Steven Spielberg and what the best and worst parts of directing his first movie were, for example.

But the interview also contained a bit of depressing news about Cornish’s thoughts on the future of Adam and Joe.

Does your film success mean we will get less Adam and Joe podcasts in the future?
I don’t know. It’s going to be impossible for me to do both and this is what I’ve always wanted to do. But I love Adam and I’m crazy about our audience. I feel so privileged to be doing it and to have got the recognition that we have got for it. But, at the same time, we can’t stay there forever because radio is just forever. It’s every Saturday and Adam’s impression of the queen might stop being funny and some stage.

UGH. This makes me sad. Hearing their funny banter is one of the nicest joys in life. They click so well — like an old couple, complete with tension and love. I listen to the podcasts during dreary points in life (ie the morning commute) and they just pick you right up. I do hope they continue a working relationship in between Joe’s movies, because they have a dedicated fan base who adores them.

I totally agree, they are two of the funniest people on the planet. I guess Cornish will be busy for a while with the launch of Attack the Block in the US and the writing of the third draft of the script for the future Ant-Man movie. But if we’re lucky, maybe he’ll return to 6 Music after that.
